Our Team

This is me, Millie, the owner of the dumb brunette salon. I started my hairdressing journey 30 years ago at Mister M, a popular salon in Beeston where I had THE best training and worked with some of the best hairdressing talent around!

I opened my first salon in 2003 and had that for 10 years before I took a step back to concentrate on family life. In 2013 I joined the wonderful team at Chess Hair and Beauty as a freelance stylist until in 2021, horrified by all the PPE waste brought on by COVID-19, I decided I needed to do something to tackle this environmental hardship contributed to by our industry.

In 2021, I decided it was time to create a salon that reflected my values, combining a premium hairdressing experience with thoughtful product choices and a welcoming atmosphere. The Dumb Brunette opened in July 2021, challenging stereotypes within the hairdressing industry while celebrating individuality, creativity and great hair. Today, we're proud to work with professional brands including Davines, Glowwa and Zen Luxury Hair Extensions, helping our clients enjoy beautiful hair with personalised advice and care.

Our chosen in-house and retail product range I’m proud to say is Davines, a family-run company using ingredients obtained from renewable and eco-sustainable sources. A Certified B corporation company.

Crisi joined us in 2021 after she was made redundant from her last salon where she served 12 years as a stylist. How lucky are we to have her as part of our team?! Crisi loves all aspects of her position as a stylist here at the dumb brunette but she loves, and we mean LOVE, a style transformation. Bit of a coffee addict (no talking to Crisi before her morning fix) but we keep her topped up, so don’t worry  ☕️

Martina is our very own resident Barber (she doesn’t actually live here but she may as well as she’s so busy!!) We began to operate an appointment system for Martina’s bookings when COVID-19 first hit which proved so successful that we decided to continue with it. You can still get a haircut with Martina without an appointment but we’d strongly recommend you book. It’s so easy to do using our online booking system!

Libby is our graduate stylist . She has recently completed her level 3 qualification in hairdressing and can’t wait to make a start on perfecting her skills. Probably the smiliest member of our team, she brings with her tons of enthusiasm and lots of fresh new ideas to keep us on our toes!!

Chloe has joined our team bringing with her 14 years of salon experience. She is our full time senior stylist originally from Essex but has moved over to join us from West Bridgford.

She has lots of new skills to share with us and has had experience with hair extensions and more recently ‘Mesh integration’ systems for clients experiencing hair loss.
